The ATX Original kit has mountings for the standard fan mounting for twin 92mm fans and will accommodate full ATX boards. The kit re-uses the original rear grill mounting and echoes the look of the stock G5 case rear while allowing you to use the case to house modern PC components within the classic G5 case.

We do not recommend re-using the original fans themselves. To do that a certain amount of re-wiring needs to be done and the original fans have a relatively high power consumption. Modern 92mm fans are widely available that are quieter and more efficient and these can easily be fitted to the original fan holder.

These kits contain everything you need to convert the case to ATX format – this means you get our amazing quality full ATX 5mm perspex motherboard tray with mounts tailor made to fit your G5, every screw and a full ATX IO shield made from laser cut and folded brushed aluminium with large threaded inserts for securely fastening your PCI-e cards in place.  The ATX Original kit is priced at a UK base price of  £70.

Please note the rear pattern of these backplates and of the trays shown above is to place the PCI-e slots high up in the case. Please note that if you wish to retain use of DVD drive within the original location then this kit does not allow that as the motherboard extends into the top shelf area and will interfere with standard length Optical drives. So if you want to retain the DVD drive in the original position then we would advise you to consider instead either our Low 120 ATX kit or our G5 ATX kit with PSU mount.
