This ATX PSU trim piece is useful to all PC modders helping to disguise unsightly hand cut case edges!
Features of the ATX PSU trim piece
Simple, elegant and with minimal footprint. The trim piece is laser cut from 1.5mm thick aluminium sheet and brush finished. Paint the trim piece to match your own case, or use it ‘as is’.
The trim piece comes with a cutting/drilling pattern. The pattern helps you to cut a correctly sized hole in any case or box up to 2mm thick. The template gives you a good margin for error so you do not have to be too neat!
After drilling/cutting your case, place your ATX PSU inside the case, and then put the trim piece outside of the case and screw the PSU into position.
The strength of the installation depends on the strength of the original backplate – as a sandwich construction is formed comprising: trim piece + original backplate + atx PSU.
This bracket is ideal for many case conversions, and is great for a custom Mac Pro case conversion as it provides a simple way for full access to an ATX PSU mounted on the top shelf. Please do note however that this will not enable similar shelf mounting for the G5 as the curve at the top/rear of a G5 case does not permit flush mounting – for those situations we recommend you purchase our G5 full ATX with PSU mount kit
Options
A set of four black 6/32 thumbscrews can be bought as an optional extra. This screw size is used by many ATX PSU manufacturers, notably by Corsair. Check before buying that these are the right size for you!
Notes
This ATX PSU trim piece is NOT like other conventional ATX PSU brackets in that it does not include any extra mounting points outside of the PSU area. Instead it uses just the four mounting holes native to the ATX PSU itself. Thus, it is important that you follow the cutting template and instructions to avoid cutting away too much case material. The ATX PSU trim piece allows you to mount conventional PSUs into tight spaces on cases. It provides a neat and elegant finish to your case, and covers up any rough cuts.

Its perfect… I recommend!
Complementing my previous review, this is another beautiful creation of David, which solves a major problem, and complements the smaller (matx) rear panel. In my case, it served to keep the original partition and preserve the HD / SSD drawers.
Thanks again David.
