This kit fits a standard ATX style PSU to the back of the G5 case and accommodates a full ATX (or E-ATX) compliant motherboard.
The kit includes the tray, all fittings, standoffs, screws, back plate and ATX shield.
Please note that the Fan Bracket/ Radiator support is NOT included in the kit and must be bought separately.
Features of the kit with integrated PSU mount
The back plate (as with all Laser Hive kits) bolts on to the original G5 back after cutting. So at the point where you mount the PSU it mounts to a total thickness of aluminium of 3mm. This provides a good sturdy mount to ATX PSUs without needing extra internal support.
By mounting the PSU in this manner, you do not risk the voiding of your PSU warranty (as you would if you re-bodied your PSU into the G5 ATX PSU case), you do not need to make any internal extension cords to hook it up and you mount it as far back in the case as is possible – potentially freeing up a little more space inside the G5. Wiring is hidden under the motherboard and tidied away.
Mounting the power supply like this means you do not need to worry about any extra “earthing” of your G5 as the case of the PSU mounts metal – to – metal to the G5 case. The power supply earth will directly earth the G5 case.
The 120 fan hole allows the use of all in one 120mm water coolers.
Back plate allows a modern ATX PSU and full ATX motherboard to be easily fitted into the G5
Deluxe or Standard Tray
A choice of tray type is available – Standard or Deluxe.
The Standard tray option provides secure mounting of motherboard to the G5 case interior.
The Deluxe version features a built-in drive holder which lets you store up to three 2.5″ drives inside a cut out formed in the tray. Drives are held securely by an acetal mounting plate with nylon screw fittings. For tight builds – e.g. ones featuring custom water cooling loops – this really lets you maximise your available interior space. All kit variants now come with a brushed stainless steel tray as standard. These trays have integrated standoff mountings ( you can change positions of the standoffs according to whether you want to mount an ATX motherboard, or a micro ATX or even a Mini ITX.
Deluxe trays ( as pictured below) feature an integrated SSD holder.
These stainless steel trays are much easier to fit than the acrylic version and will fit correctly first time, every time. In addition these are easily recyclable at end of life.

First off all this kit is absolutely brilliant. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. I bought the full atx conversation kit and front io replacement along with front fan radiator panel and rear pressed mesh cover. The whole kit follows the industrial design of the g5 beautifully.
The way the internal motherboard tray fits is so clever and simple.
I’ve always wanted a Mac case for my computer, the design of the g5 is by far imho the best case ever made, and I’m guessing your reading this as you think the same.
The laser hive kit is subtle and fits perfectly. And there customer service is first class.

Excellent quality, everything fit together perfectly. I wish the included instructions were a little higher quality (images are blurry and explanations are a little lackluster) but I was able to figure it out. The build turned out great!
